I am thrilled to share The Gathering Collection this week! This is our very first seasonal collection, in which we're offering our four signature silhouettes in a new color/material each. While I knew the colors I wanted to create for our year-round Classics Collection very early on, the process of curating our first fall/winter options felt a little more daunting. My goal was to strike a balance of unique, memorable styles that could truly "make" an outfit and more neutral options that could fill potential gaps in your wardrobe.
As I began pulling inspiration, a few themes quickly began to emerge: candlelit outdoor dinner parties, romantic textures that made simple pieces feel special, magnolia leaf garlands and centerpieces, and shades of copper, gold, and rose. I found myself saving just as many tablescape images as I was fashion images, and as I reflected on how precious in-person events have become over the last few years, the concept of The Gathering Collection took shape.
While each of our four styles (three available now and one, the new Rita Mule, coming in October) can easily be worn in your everyday life, they also feel special enough for occasions and events. Versatility is a huge pillar of Maylis, so I'm incredibly proud of how these styles came together—both as standalone styles and as a full collection. Let's take a look at each one, shall we?
The Catherine Loafer in Copper Suede
Our Catherine Loafer in Maylis Blue Suede has been the most popular style from the Classics Collection, which made me especially excited to unveil it in this new seasonal suede. I think they feel a touch more casual than our leather options, since they pair so beautifully with cozy pieces like an oversized sweater and leggings or denim. That said, as you can see in our photo shoot images, they also look gorgeous with dresses!
The Ella Heel in Black Suede
Our most-requested style since our launch has been a black version of the Ella Heel, so I'm grateful I was able to add it to our assortment so early on. The suede offers a softer aesthetic than leather and feels so fitting for this time of the year. I pulled many inspiration images featuring black staples in all different textures, so I love the idea of pairing these with black tulle, knitwear, silk, and more!
The Sadie Ballerina in Magnolia
Perhaps our most statement-making style of this collection, the Sadie Ballerina was the perfect silhouette to highlight our deep green Italian nappa leather. This color was inspired by the majestic magnolia trees all over Raleigh and the way just a few clippings of their branches instantly elevate a tablescape or mantel. In the same way, these shoes take any look to the next level, whether you pair them with your favorite neutral pieces or play with fresh color combinations.
Stay tuned for the arrival of the Rita Mule in Rose Suede, coming in October, to complete The Gathering Collection!
