New Year's Eve may be an unlikely favorite holiday, but it's always been one that has tugged at my heartstrings. I've rung in some new years dressed to the nines beneath a shower of confetti and others cozied up at home in pajamas with the lights of Time Square glowing from the TV. Either way, the evening holds a little bit of magic. No matter what's on the docket, there's a romance to the traditions that always seem to make their way into the celebrations—the champagne, the chorus of Auld Lang Syne, and, most of all, the promise of a fresh start.
